Even in the South, we crave comfort food for fall. This stuffing bake is the easiest comfort dish ever.
It has finally, blissfully cooled off enough to wear my beloved boot collection. Treaured trench coats and scarves curated from our time overseas can make their annual appearance. Admittedly, they only get worn the beginning and end of the day. The middle remains obtrusively hot and humid. We make the best of it.
Casseroles make their seasonal comeback.
It’s finally cool enough to use the oven again. Give me something golden, brown, and delicious in a 9×13! This stuffing bake was thrown together using things I needed to use up in my pantry. In a taste of true irony, it’s the best thing we’ve had in weeks (even bloggers have off meals.) My Husband Big Hearted thanked me for ‘making something so tasty.’
This stuffing bake is the perfect vehicle for leftovers.
Leftover green beans, leftover stuffing mix, leftover cooked chicken or turkey (like my back pocket turkey roast.) It doesn’t get much easier. This will be making an appearance very soon after Thanksgiving at our house. We won’t be waiting that long to have it again. What’s your favorite way to savor the Holidays? Your favorite leftover use?
